Words are so scarce in Zen
they are accordingly
More important
More ponderous
More disturbing
More strategically aimed
at the possibility of waking up
Than in any setting
Buddhist or not
Where words slow easily
And always
The chatter of everyday life
In Zen
When words show up
You’d better be listening
